This is probably a dumb question but is bike pacing illegal for WR purposes? I keep seeing the guy behind him and thinking "buddy, get out your Garmin and help him out."

they are now saying there is a discrepancy between the on course clocks and the one shown the broadcast
The one on the broadcast matches up with the official splits, the one on the car seems to be wrong
good lord, this whole thing is as staged as the moon landing.
Green screen, treadmill....blah blah blah....sooooo obvious.
So is he really not wearing the 4% shoes? I thought someone was joking about that. That is unbelievable. Nike's whole marketing is these shoes are better than other shoes. All the studies have seemed to support that and yet he's not wearing them? Can someone make one post explaining the shoes?

He has run the race, he has kept the faith.

I think the one on the TV is correct - came through the half in the same split as the tracking app.
Yeah, that's going to be a problem, because I think Kipchoge sees that time in front of him on the lead van.

Splits have been in sync with tv clock not the car. Car is about 9-10 seconds behind the tv clock.

Didn´t you read what I just wrote. It´s a Vaporfly with a modified midsole.
three pace cars on my screen now....all three different times
wtf
Kipchoge is still moving fast, but am I maybe sensing a bit of side-to-side in his arm motion? Maybe the first signs of getting tired? 1hr 21 mins in.
is kipchoge wearing a gps watch so he can know the correct time?
Cherono & Aga go past Dibbaba! Kip still on low 2:02 pace

they're not better, nike was lying.
now here's a better question, why is the clock on the german broadcast 9 seconds ahead of the clock on the pace car? Which one is right?
The splits on the broadcoast compare Kipchoge to even WR splits, don't they? Compared to the ghost of Kimetto, Kipchoge's doing better so far: he was 41s up at the half, and 44s at 25km.
BUT, it'll be interesting to see how that gap develops after 25km, considering:
a) Kipchose lost the last pacer at 25km
b) It's getting hotter..
c) Kimetto turned on the afterburners at 30km, dropping a 14:10 5km

The one on the broadcast is correct. Pay attention.

Ok it must have been temporary, he's looking good again.
Defending champ Gladys Cherono has taken over the lead in the women's race. She hits 25k in 1:21:52 (2:18:10 pace). Last year's runner-up Ruti Aga is second, 2 seconds behind, with Dibaba in third, three seconds back of Cherono.
Humidity doesn't mean much.
I'll share part of Malmo's email now.
The then went on to talk about how the 2010 5k in Doha where a couple guys ran 12:51 in 94 degrees.
Here is what he wrote about that.
The good news is the dewpoint in Berlin right now is still 50. The problem to me is the sun. Come on clouds!!
But here are the weather conditions of nearly all fast track races ever run.

Maybe because it's by Polar? I love my Polar watch but it takes like 2 minutes to find GPS.
