With news of Augustine Choge making his marathon debut at Chicago this year, it has me wondering who has the fastest 800m to marathon time?

Probably in my top five running pictures is when Rod Dixon crossed the NYC marathon arms held up in victory.
Tuttle told me after a night of drinking that he ran 1:48 and 3:56 . Not sure how true since he says in Runners world he never ran shorter than his 8:35 steeple at Auburn. Still looking for his indoor list.

Wait, tell me more about this?
Wilson Kipketer ran a 1:41.11 and a 3:20 marathon. No one can top that combo!
Gary Cohen interview he says 1:49, 3:43, and 4:01
So king tuts pr in the 800 was probable in the 4x 800 while at Auburn
Galen Rupp:
800m: 1:50
Marathon: 2:06:07
Didn’t kipchoge run 1:43?

This is easily topped by Haile Gebrselassie:
1:49.35 + 2:03:59
The 800m was run indoors where he really ran a stupid race when trying to hold the lead early and faded badly. Should have been capable to run sub 1:48, outdoors maybe sub 1:47. Jos Hermens once said Gebrselassie has run "1:46" in training. But I'm sceptical.
Rui Silva:
1:44.91 + 2:12:16
Some more who have raced over 800m and Marathon:
Boubdellah Tahri: 1:48.96 + 2:16:28
Filbert Bayi: 1:45.32 + 2:16:16
Mo Farah: 1:48.69 + 2:06:21
Rod Dixon: 1:47.6 + 2:08:59
Mohamed Mourhit: 1:48.23 + 2:19:43
Farah, Silva and Dixon have the best combos I think.
Any Kenyan or Ethiopian who has raced both distances seriously?
