The number of championship races I've seen is definitely over 1000 (thanks to youtube). I've been a competitive runner since 1972 and have done a lot of digging on youtube over the last ten years. I doubt that there is more than 30% of championship races on youtube that I haven't seen. I'm talking even at the level of AAU, Jamaican "champs", NBN, various state champs, etc..
This was one of the greats. The storyline on Sydney Mc alone was epic, not to mention VT, USC, etc..
Allie puts up a fight with Schweizer!

Surprised this hasn’t gotten more attention:
Ostrander’s mile PR is 4:46 (per TFRRS). She ran 4:38 for the last 1600 to hang with Schweizer. Incredible!
An awesome display of a pure long distance specialist using everything to hang in a championship race! -
That's good considering Katelyn Tuohy could only do it once all out on a DMR

She ran 4:36 in the DMR the day before, but yeah she will be a fantastic marathoner with a redline like that. -
she would've won if she had better knee drive. hate the way she runs

Allie O. is an immense talent. She is physically gifted but her toughness and guts are what set her apart.
It is a shame to see her coach screwing up her development. Speed development should have started right away, instead he gave her tons of mileage and only raced in her longer events, resulting in countless injuries.
Her form also leaves much to be desired.
She is talented enough and gritty enough to make her coach look good, but the truth is she is successful despite her poor coach. -
I think she and her coach are doing fine. I thought she was going to be the stereotypical high school female waif who fizzles in college but she has proved me wrong.

That's true. Kate Murphy and Katie Rainsberger injured. Brie Oakley probably injured. Anna Rohrer injured. Maryjeanne Gilbert missing. Sarah baxter missing. Mary Cain chilling. I know I'm missing more.....

blowhard lol

That's a retarded thing to say even for LRC.
Congratulations. -

Actually her potential beyond college is going to be severely limited unless she gets down to 4:08 in the 1500. She's 21 now and really far away. -

Jordan Hasay's PRs in college: 4:10, 8:57, 15:37
Allie Ostrander's PRs in college: 4:18, 8:54, 15:21, 9:41sc(and two more years to go) -
Ostrander is already 21. Hasay graduated from college at 21.
-
Ostrander is so tiny that she seems made for the marathon. I don’t think she will be fast enough in the 1500 or 5k. Interestingly, she was running 9:58 for 3200 as a senior while Schweizer was only running 9:58 for 3k in HS.

Boo-f'n-hoo
You might want to review those numbers again. -

Review them yourself. You'll find I'm right. -

Also interesting that Ostrander (born Dec. 96) who has 2 more years of eligibility and Schweizer (born Sept. 96) are about the same age. -
I didn’t realize that. Schweizer developed so late, not really until college, but she could have been a HS senior her freshman year of college.

Allie is entered in the steeplechase and 5k for the Stanford Invite. I'm sure she will drop some crazy times or if not good ones.
