Sorry, I had to post. That race was close and who would've thought that Allie O was right there.

Just tough.

I'm glad she's back!
flotrack didn' t have her in the top 8, i don't think Letsrun mentioned her in the preview. Some joker mentioned her in a thread about high school phenoms that didn't amount to anything. So what is that so far?
2nd and 4th at Nats in XC,
1st in steeple and 4th in 5k outdoors
2nd in 3000 indoors and anchored 5th place DMR.
15:21 5k
only half way through elgibilty
I don't think the list of current sophomore female distance runners that have a better resume so far is very long.
Shows you that Letsrun is not only a tough crowd, but often a moronic one as well.

I did.
She's been through so many injuries and set backs as well. It's amazing how she is able to get qualifying marks off reportedly just a few days/weeks of running. She almost made the Rio Olympic team as a true Freshman too! Hard not to root for her.
wonder what kind of senior year Allie can put together if she can string together a couple of uninjured years of training.

*moranic (with an 'a')
moran!
One of the commentators said something along the lines of how Allie was hanging on and "taking lessons from the master". I thought that an insightful comment. Both those women deserve an award just for heroism in that race. A very pure event in a sometimes troubled sport.
What a great meet. I've seen hundreds of championships and this one had almost everything that track does right.

Not that this changes her success in any way, but she is a red shirt sophomore.
yeah, think the point still stands
Sorry but what does redshirting do??
Does nothing for me -- but if your complexion, hair, etc. match well, red can be a really great color.
I've said this before. She reminds me of Zola Budd, in her tiny, immature appearance and the organic nature of her running.
I don't think so. If so she is going to have a short running career and not accomplish much.
So I’m assuming she’s not planning on ever having kids right?

Allows an athlete to graduate from one school with a year of eligibility left and then go to another school to run their final season.

Her "career" is at least 9 years old as she was a SIX TIME winner of the Mount Marathon junior race before even competing in college track and cross country!!
https://www.adn.com/sports/2017/07/04/the-legend-grows-allie-ostrander-wins-womens-mount-marathon-title/So seriously, is she from Arkansas or something? I don't get everyone's obsession with Allie and AK.

Hundreds? Really? If you've seen 2 a year for 50 years, that's only 100. Did you mean "hundreds of championship races", or are you just being s typical Letsrun blowhard?
