The new Nike Epic React Flyknit!
Something new from Nike that came with massive claims of amazing proportions. Naturally I was intrigued by all of this along with the endorses videos of Nike’s athletes across all running events. Mo Farah, Evan Jager, Galen Rupp; all of these athletes had something positive to say about the shoe. So, I ordered a pair.
WELL. Let me be the first to say...huge disappointment. These are not “the bounciest” shoes or even remotely close to as energy returning as Nike claimed they would be. They are lightweight and fit like a sock, yes, but by no means are they as comfortable as they were marketed to be (“like clouds under your feet”). I ran an hour easy run in them along with a fartlek and in all seriousness, they lack support entirely. My ankles were just jello because of the low profile fit and on top of that the soles are already wearing down after two runs? Absurd.
Overall, these are NOT worth your time and money. Maybe if you want to wear them around casually but for running, not worth it. I’ll be returning these when the post office opens because I absolutely want me $150 back...
