Don't have a comment on the glasses, but....
I am living proof that Lasik isn't risk free. I've been blind in my right eye for the last two years as a result of Lasik. Not completely blind... but my entire centre field of vision is gone. I can only see with my peripheral vision out of that eye. My left eye is fine. Can't get a drivers license in my state b/c you have to be able to see with both eyes in my state, and even if I could, I wouldn't drive because I know I'd be too dangerous to drive. I can't catch a ball anymore, or at least not that well... need two eyes to judge depth of a moving object.
Think seriously about it before you do it. The risks are understated in most studies... if you want I can explain to you exactly how and why they are understated (have spent two years on this), but trust me when I say the risks are understated.
