I admit to not being sold on Altra in general. I have a pair of Instinct 4.0, but the zero drop is too much and the longevity is suspect. Out of all the shoes that I have worn over the past year, the Altras wore down the fastest. But now that my Altras are walking shoes, I am sold on zero drop for walking.
Skechers is getting more intriguing, though. I think the big resources of their company is leading to some rapid development. I got a pair of GoMeb Razor 2 and they are amazingly lightweight for their thickness. I took them for a short run with strides and they felt fine. Reviews say they are an uptempo shoe, but I rarely run slower than 7:30 pace, so I think they will suit me fine.
My only question is the durability of Flight Gen, Ultra Flight, and Hyper Flight. How long can something last with that kind of lightness?
