Unfortunately, Kenenisa coming in 2nd place at the London Marathon with a time of only 2:05:57 was…a debacle.
Kenenisa did not have proper training again for London because he only trained for 7 weeks.
Kenenisa gained about 10 lbs because he was also eating too much.
Kenenisa looked like he had gained weight since Berlin and had a slight double chin. I have never seen him this big.
Kenenisa let himself get a little pudgy.
The stupid Nike shoes also caused blisters, hamstring problems, form problems and all kinds of other problems for Kenenisa.
It was obvious after the race that Kenenisa was upset and embarrassed at his London debacle.
The only good thing that came out of this Kenenisa Bekele marathon debacle is that it could of been a lot worse.
If Kenenisa was hurting really bad and really died to the point that his race time would be a complete disaster (e.g. 2:09:58 by Galen)…he would just drop out and get a ride back to the hotel.
