His RV says he's running across America. I wonder if he bothers to correct people when they incorrectly assume that's still the case.

Holy crap, I just got back from my run, checked on my boy Darren and discovered that he is on the move again. Based on the time they ended the other day and the time on the running clock, they started out at around 9:40 eastern time.
I'm sure he contacted the Richmond Bicycle Club before they left, as they indicated that they would like to ride with him.
Check out @DarrenKavinoky's Tweet:
https://twitter.com/DarrenKavinoky/status/881509289432686593?s=09See above. At 10:09 this morning I posted that based on the running clock and the current time, Darren had started his day at about 9:40 eastern time.
The video that Darren tweeted says that he forgot to turn on his tracker and realized it about 8 miles into his ride.
The tweeted video is time stamped 8:46 a.m. Whether that is central time (my time zone) or eastern time, either way it was recorded BEFORE he rode 8 miles. He PRE-RECORDED that he "forgot" to turn on his GPS tracking system.
The gaps in his tracking data are so frequent that he thought he better explain them. The guy is a lawyer, and THIS is what he came up with. Yeah, I want this guy defending me. C'mon dude!
+1
That is really sad. If this forum were so influential and you could prove that you influenced him to switch his claim from running to bicycle then that might be of some interest but there is no evidence.
I find it amazing just as another has said that he never claimed to be trying to break any records, running, walking or bicycling. If he were I could understand the vitriol but that is not the case. So why the angst over something that does not matter? I personally enjoy then sport of going back and forth but really with just a few days to go nothing has been exposed. I see mentions of a person called Young was it. I assume he was making claims but you are comparing apples to oranges.
Huh???
You are on Let's Run, you claim to be a runner, and you don't know who Rob Young is? You just outed yourself broseph.

Wait, I think we need to think about this. I see the time stamp on Kavinoky's video tweet as 9:46 am Eastern time. If you saw that Kavinoky started his tracker at about 9:40 am Eastern time, then there is no time discrepancy because I think Kavinoky is claiming he ride the 7-8 miles before 9:46 am Eastern time.
I've actually been looking at the LocaToWeb tracker with the satellite view to see what lanes Kavinoky is riding in on the roads and from what I see as a cyclist, it is pretty convincing to me that there are many cases where the tracker shows Kavinoky riding in one of the middle lanes of a multi-lane Highway or major road for long distances when any real biker would be riding on the shoulder. Because riding in the middle lane of a multi lane road as a cyclist means you get killed. But no problem for a big honking RV with flashers on.
I'll do up some screen shots in a bit but you can see it for yourself by zooming in on the tracker where Kavinoky went right to Fredericksburg and follow what lane he is in on the 3-4 lane road with a shoulder.

Old Wrestler wrote:Been Lurking around here and giggling for days. I have a quick question. Their tracker "lost contact" now for over 5 minutes, is this normal? I have done trail runs through the woods in BFE and never lost contact with my Garmin for anywhere near that long. Anyone have a clue? Obviously the accidental turned off, but I mean a real plausible reason to lose contact for that long on a road not too far from a major city?
I check this thread about once per week. It continues to be the stupidest expose' thread in the history of letsrun. Continuously checking the tracker and monitoring a guy who doesn't even claim to be running or doing anything of significance. What's the point? Unbelievable.
The point is that he's lying to sponsors, tv stations, etc that he is cycling across America, and he's not.
When he finishes he will boast he achieved this and get more sponsors, money, book deals, public speaking gigs, etc ALL based on this scam.
Exposing it is a very good thing.
If you're not interested, why you still reading and posting?

LOL, this video tweet Kavinoky made this morning was totally directly at us. He claims heading out of Richmond that he forgot to turn in his tracker for 7 or 8 miles but that Kyle's tracker was on and says "there's nothing fake about that". LOL! Seems like an open invitation for us to request the other tracker data they claim to have. Anybody in contact with them to get their GPS files?

Contact? How are you supposed to get in contact with these scammers?
If you message them on facebook you just get an auto message plus photo fobbing you off and refusing to answer questions, then blocked, and blocked for asking any questions on Twitter

So - you have no interest in this, are "British" and yet you come back again and again to post.
You have an attitude that suggests you are Darren. Falsely believing you are better than everyone else, and smarter, when in fact you are just demonstrating you are lying about yourself (you arent British) and clearly have a reason to want to defend yourself, Darren........
"Does not matter"????
You act like this is just a holiday.
It is not. It is a scam to gain financially in the future.
You aren't just cycling and RV riding for fun, this is all about fooling more sponsors and the media into giving you adulation and money and media opportunities.
You want us all to go away so you can continue this scam, then blag everyone you rode the whole way.
Why aren't you running?
Like the RV states? Your injury healed weeks ago.
If you were British you'd have heard of Rob Young.
This is no different. The fact Young was faking a world record got him a lot more interest, but scamming is scamming, and lying you are cycling across America for financial gain is fraud.
Why do you keep reading and posting on here, if you have no interest in this scam, "Ozzie"??

Go through Kavinoky's PR guy Jed Wallace like it says at the bottom of his press releases:
http://www.stockhouse.com/news/press-releases/2017/05/03/darren-kavinoky-s-historic-journey-across-america-recently-launched-from-theJustin, why the pimp glasses and hat?
Kyle, why do you have something dripping on your shirt?
Kavinoky, why do you have such a big grin on your face?
Define runner
If as I suspect you mean someone who runs marathons
Iron Man and other such ventures then I do not qualify
And I like the majority of planet earth do not know Rob Young and have no interest in Rob Young
If you read my postings you will deduct my age which I can assure you is a lot older than most here
The claim I am Darren is laughable but it is as valid as most of the other assumptions I have read
Am I interested in exposing Darren. I have made it clear I look forward to seeing the video of him cheating another claims to have.
If no such video exists then the information I have collected as to what Darren and associates have done and how will hold up and I will be satisfied.
Did you ever get your blister problem resolved from the other thread you posted on? 10 miles a day is serious mileage you must be pretty fit.
Ozzie9472 wrote:
I am hopeful someone can help me. I go about ten miles a day. Recently my left foot has developed bad blisters. I have tried different size shoes 12, 12.5, 13 by New Balance, Brooks and others. The blisters are on the heel and right side of the foot. Can anyone recommend a solution because I love to be active but this is getting to be very frustrating? To be clear I am not a runner in a club or a group but a frustrated senior who wants a solution

No, not necessarily marathons. Just someone who runs regularly.
If you were a runner living in Britain, you would have heard of Rob Young, if not from when he was claiming to be marathonman uk, then from him being exposed on the fake run across America.
You lied about being British. You are not. So we don't believe anything you post now.
Anyone reading this thread and paying attention who can't see it's totally obvious he is cheating is either part of Darren's crew or a simpleton.
Here we go again.
I have provided enough clues concerning my heritage and the assumption I am American is as most of the assumptions here incorrect.
I enjoy the sparring but factually you can put it together. It was assumed that Ozzie was Australian no that is wrong Aussie would be a correct, spelling and no I am not and Aussie. This spelling is closer to Ozzy of Black Sabbath. That ages me. Muswell Hill, Creighton, I can add Eccleston Square, Victoria Station, and so much more. Seeing many chase use of language and how I phrase things is funny. Facts I am not American love football. Not American football which is misnamed they do not use their feet!!
I was delighted to see them lose the Americas Cup!!!
No my posts are as valid as any here I just have not found hard firm evidence of cheating as many have supposedly proven.
Thank you for asking. No I have not solved the problem. I have tried socks that are anti blister, plasters, smaller shoes - that did not work at all. What puzzles me is I have been on the same routing for years and now the problem shows up.
I have been forced to switch to treadmill and run and walk which while reducing the problem has not solved it. So I remain frustrated.
One last comments I take great pride in not celebrating independence day. We have no such day!!
