at the moment it's a no contest, Molly would be a mile behind.
You got it backwards, Huddle's pb is 5 mins slower than Hasay's, almost exactly a mile behind.

That's what he said...

The womens record for Boston is about 4 minutes faster then New York. I don't believe Molly would have been a mile behind. It could have been close.
it must be daunting for Molly to be heading to the marathon, and suddenly having to deal with Jordan. Not to mention that I suspect that her teammate Sisson may be a Jordan-like talent as well....
Oops, I misread it, haha.

That 68-min HM debut is concrete proof that she indeed is.
Treacy has already said to watch out for Emily in the 26.2.... :)

When both are healthy, Huddle will never beat Hasay in the marathon. I doubt if Molly will ever run 2:23, while Hasay is looking at running 2:20.
Why would Hasay be a shoe in for 2:20. Salazar had Goucher debut at just under 2:26 and she only managed to take a minute off her debut. If he prepares them as well as everyone says it's tough to shave off a lot of time. Likewise for Rupp the 3-4 minutes or more won't be easy.
Hard to bet against Huddle at anything, but Hasay just made this a LOT more interesting today. Hard to imagine that this debate is not about any one of the three (top 10) Olympic marathoners but all of them are killing it the last few years.
And Kiplagat is such an inspiration. Great runner, great person.

Really a mile behind?
It was a great race for Jordan, but don't forget Molly is way more talented and much faster than Jordan. You can't compare NY with Boston. NY is a very challenging course vs a downhill Boston and don't forget they had some tail wind help as well but this year nothing close to the 20 mi x hr of 2011. People always brag about Boston hills and yes running uphill is hard at 20 mi but don't forget those aren't extream uphills and are just maybe 150m long. The Boston course has miles and miles of nice downhills which are an extreme advantage without adding the point point tailwind that occurs in lucky days. Downhill records are meaningless. In a windy day like 2011 lineup healthy Bekele, Kipchogue, Kipsang, Limmeto, etc with pacemakers and we could probably see 2:00-2:01 time for sure.

Het you forgot the one we are talking about here, the marathon, Jordon one win!
Problem with Huddle is that she is much older and does not have the window for improvement in the marathon as Jordon does. Flat fast course paced, Jordan in capable of sub 2:20. Molly just waited to long to race the marathon.
Mollys great racing/times pales to the exposure Jordon is getting and will get as she runs more marathons. Yesterdays race was the shot heard around the world.

Not on a day when it is 70 degrees and little to no tail wind.
