I think those very important articles for anyone who wonders what's wrong with their training. A lot of people on these forums don't do enough easy jogging. Than they tell me that I'm wrong when I suggest to someone just jog easy if they are sore or feeling overtrained. It is like this article wejo talks about the reason why he didn't do good in college was that he wasn't doing enough easy jogging. Take easy, remember as Lydiard said, "Train don't strain". Americans tend to think the secret to getting in shape is through really tough workouts. But training easy and building up your aerobic engine is no secret just hard work.
Lydiard summed it up perfectly,
I have a saying 'train, don't strain.' The Americans have the saying 'no pain, no gain' and that's why they have no distance running champions. They get down to the track with a stopwatch and flog their guts out thinking that it'll make them a champion, but they'll never make a champion that way.
