Very little upper body, high arm carriage, maybe it's a balance thing.

Today, I swept around my desk a bit. I'm guessing that's what it feels like to dance with Twig hirchirchir.
Most of you could never eat clean enough and train enough to get as lean as chir, I understand it's hard to say no to mcdonalds and I understand the jealous insults.

You were so close......She doesn't eat clean, she eats clen. As in clenbuterol.
When you fantasize about Twigchirchir, do you hump a pool cue?
It isn't just the women, it is a lot of the East African male road racers as well. As you send, they ended up there for a reason, I suppose. I wonder if it has to do with maybe doing more hill running or running on soft surfaces more than your typical American.
That guy is a slower version of Yuki Balls-to-the-wall.

I find these guys so interesting...much more than the average elite...running one underwhelming marathon per year.

we know, you've said that like 12 times now
Last year at an indoor meet, Sarah Chepchirchir's sister looked toward the track and yelled "Sarah has developed super powers and is flying through the air!"
Turns out, a dark colored javelin was being thrown during practice. Doh..

This really stands out. Back-to-back wins and a PB.
Your jokes belongs over on the Klosterhaufen thread.

Yes, it is a great and exciting accomplishment, but almost no one knows about it. The "elite" running 2:12 or so, after a year's work, will stand out more. On the world stage, Koji, unfortunately, is a nobody, but he has accomplished so much more than a lot of the somebodies.

Nobody asked you, Transgender.

That is because of the way the sport decides to give coverage to its competitors. Koji beat all the women in the Tokyo marathon but the organizers of the race and reporters of the sport will be giving the women more coverage even though they slower than he did. I would rather have the sport give much more attention to guys like Koji (this includes the other amateur runners finishing ahead of him) who are likely working full time because more people participating in the sport can relate to people like Koji. I would prefer the sport to be giving much less coverage to African runners who do nothing but eat, sleep, (and maybe dope) and run because most people participating in the sport are not able to relate to runners like that. Someone having to be given an IV infusion of vitamin D and L carnitine before they compete in a running race is just not really taking part in a sporting activity anymore.
Well stated. No, very well stated.

He is like the hefty version of Yuki Kawauchi.
I always have mixed feelings, getting beat by "struggling" types like this guy. On the one hand they lay it all out there, on the other, take a minute to learn decent form and relaxation, man! If you didn't thrash like that you would be faster, and less painful for the rest of us to watch. I realize this goes against the "Litttle Engine That Could" types who proliferate the boards.
True enough--good form makes one faster. I think, though, the 2:19:53 he ran just three weeks prior must have had an impact on him.
Hmm, as in any analysis there is always an opposite option and fact.
If you ever ask a bad form runner about how painful he must feel, they will look you right back in the eyes and say, I felt fine and felt comfortable, thats the way I run. Yes I was tired, but on form, I felt relaxed.
Look at history , you have had many arm swinging twisted torso runners do great things. Sure they would run faster if their form was cleaned up, but as history also shows, little can be done after physical maturity sets in and when a body tires it resorts back the original biomechanics vs staying corrected.

One thing is proven here. You're an idiot. Congrats.

Career prize money $0
Career wins 6
http://more.arrs.net/runner/41146Seems like several Japanese marathon races don't give money prizes to winners.
I was watching live and also thought he was toast. It was obvious he didn't want to get beat by a girl. I thought it was a bit sad at the time, but I would have done the same thing.
Inspiration for my run today.

I thought it was obvious he did not want to get beat by a girl. She passed him, and then he answered right back.
I am still amzaed that the young African superstar could not beat the noname Japanese guy. I love it.
