Our school's distance coach is retiring. His system works great for me and others. Our school went from not having anybody under 5 in the mile to back to back top 10 in the state in cross country in the past 15 years. The retirement was really unexpected and since xc/track isn't very important I would expect the school district to look at middle school coaches or something. Our coach was the ONLY coach that knows what he's doing. I really don't want to get some coach that comes in and tries to completely change up the program or just gives us random workouts from some book. Anybody else had experiences of getting a good coach or any advice on what I should do if I get a bad coach.
