Looking for some feedback from experienced half-marathoners. My half PR is 1:28. I am going to be racing a half in a month and have not raced in a long time. I have been training 60-68 miles a week pretty consistently with a long run, tempoish workout, and speed or hill workout. I alternate between easy and hard long run and on the weeks I do a hard long run I drop the tempo workout.
Anyways I have been training to run the half at 6:30s but am wondering if I am faster than that right now. Yesterday I did a 17 mile run with 4 mile warm up and then 3 by 3 mile sets in the middle. 1st 3 - 7:00, 6:45, 6:30, 2nd- 6:45, 6:30, 6:25. 3rd - 6:30, 6:22, 6:18 and I could have done another set. I took 5 minutes between each set at 8 flat pace. Is 6:30 still the shape I am in?
On the Sunday before that run, I ran 9 miles at 6:32 pace and it felt super easy and I was not trying to run hard.
