Trivia question: What country has the *second-oldest* written constitution (that's still in effect)?
That should be the US.
The oldest is Belgium I think.
And that is part of the whole problem. The US system was never reformed or challenged. Most other countries had all kind of changes over centuries and most of them are a lot younger in their newest iteration.
The oldest constitution (that is effective as of 2020) is the United States of America. Second is Norway.
Norway ranks towards the very top of just about ever freedom and prosperity index.
So Kibitzer's point is that the USAs adherence to it's old constitution isn't responsible for the nations current issues contrary to what I Am Sam said, and I 100% agree.
The United States is suffering from inept leadership, but also from the consequences of a society that has been changed by modern technological innovation at a pace far faster than what the governments been able to account for. This is exasperated by a old ruling class that is out of touch with the modern world, unprecedented legislative deadlock over partisan trivialities, and a political culture that's declined due to social media.
Seriously some conservatives now claim that republicanism isn't a form of democracy.... not just idiots online actual elected official holding office... our political culture at the moment is ****ed.
There is some hope as it seems this decline is inspiring young people to get involved with politics again and reversing the apathy that's allowed this decline to take place...

Do rivers run wild with Coca-Cola in your world? Do winged beasts carry their human masters to and fro?

This will be known in lore as the Bobulinski October surprise. Biden is done.
I find it hilarious that clean energy Joe and his family were doing dirty energy deals with Ukraine, Russia, and China. What would expect from just another two faced Washington D.C. scumbag?
What exactly was dirty about anything done besides Hunter leveraging his last name?

I am no expert on such things. All I am doing is Googling it.
https://www.oldest.org/politics/constitutions/Link provided says Belgium is #4
1) US 1788
2) Norway 1814
3) Netherlands 1815
4) Belgium 1831
5) Denmark 1849

Well, kudos to anyone who's willing to put him/herself publicly on the line; but do you *really* think the Dems will have 239 more seats in the House than the GOP?

Indeed, the standards for evidence have changed lately. Even a phone call with a clear request to interfere in the US election for aid money, call that was immediately moved to a secure server (not intended for these calls) in an attempt to cover, was not enough evidence for the Senate to convict.
