Has anybody run in these hot shoes? Like 'em, hate 'em, or whatever, let me know.

i've worn them. my brother got me the horrible orange colored pair. they aren't a bad lightweight trainer, maybe the best trainer adidas has to offer, but the stupid laces were made of some light material that allowed them to keep coming untied even if i quadruple knotted them.
How do they run in general... narrow, average, wide?
I put different laces in mine also because the original ones kept coming untied. My co-worker and I both tested this shoe when it came out, and I really didn't like the plastic-y material they use in the forefoot, it feels a little hard and I can hear it slapping the roads when I'm running. Overall, I rate it so-so. There are definitely other light weight trainers like the DS Trainer that I would recommend over this shoe.
Wore 'em couple times, donated them to Purple Heart with the last pickup. An odd shoe.
i disagree, the litestrike is a much better shoe than the ds trainer (lighter too). the laces do suck, and they have a tendency to break down quickly. I think they fit on the narrow side of average width.
i used them and definitely had issues with the laces and needed to change them. i also felt that they didn't have a great deal of flexibility...they never seemed to loosen up at all.....the cushioning felt pretty decent for the most part, but that lack of flexibility feeling killed them for me.
I've run about 100 miles in a pair and have been really happy in them. Lightweight, fit fairly narrow. No problems with the laces here. Maybe I just know how to tie them. Very nice shoe.
I've got a pair of the road construction colored orange ones. I like them, but if it were me I would remove the hard outsole from the forefoot and just have the blown rubber. You will definately get noticed, not always for the good while wearing them. I was hauling down the street one day when my daughter drove by with her friend(a German foreign exchange student). Once we both arrived home my daughter told me that her friend asked her as they passed by if that was her dad running in PINK shoes. Guess my feet must have just been a blur to her.
I got a pair about a month ago and have put 160 miles on them. They are the heaviest shoe I'm training in right now and compared to my other shoes (Cubato's & Adistar Competitions) have a significant heel-toe drop. However, I've really, really enjoyed them. I primarily wear them on the roads and reserve my Cubato's for trail/grass days or short days. Compared to Rotterdam II's - they are very cushioned, but I don't disagree that they are otherwise a fairly firm shoe (which I tend to like). And they definitely feel fast. I think they have been a good transition shoe as I'm moving more and more towards minimal shoes like my cubatos & adistar competitions for most of my training. I am finding renewed strength in my calves/achilles which have plagued me for the past few years and attribute it largely to training in shoes that force that part of my legs to be strong.
I've had no trouble with the laces - but maybe it's just because I know how to tie a soccer knot (aka surgeon's shoelace knot -
http://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/surgeonknot.htm
). I do this on all my shoes without thinking about it, you just do a normal tie, and then take one loop through the middle again to make a double wrap versus the single wrap of a normal tie.
True the laces were bad but I could have lived with them. I found the shoe very stiff, hard and inflexible. I wish adidas had not ruined the supernova series. I find the cubato too wide. I am currently in the mizuno wave 8. They are nice but I am used to the adidas fit. I have never worn the Boston but may try them.
how can you say that adidas ruined the supernova series. yeah, they have changed a lot of the supernove shoes and made everything a supernova something, but THE SUPERNOVA (classic) is still around.
Not the classic. That was before me. I started with the supernova cushion. They ruined it and I hear from people who wore the control that they ruined that shoe too.
just buy the boston classic then, better than any of the supernove cushion series.
I'll try them, thanx
The Boston Classic is my current preferred shoe. They sort of remind me of the old d'fiants from 6-7 years ago (I went through about 8 pairs of those). I haven't tried the Rotterdams although I've heard they are similar. Anyone have a comparison?
the rotterdam is (or at least was) based on the same wedge midsole design of the boston 2. After the initial success of the boston 1, the boston 2 wasn't very well received. it seems kinda wierd to me that they used the same midsole for the rotterdam.
What wedge design is in the current boston's. Blue black for men and red white for female?
The Rotterdam has been changed....according to Holabirds website so has Supernova classic 2...I wonder if Mike McManus can offer up some knowledge
Boston Classics are the shiznit....
