yeah lots of states have state meets this weekend, i think montana did.

Hahaha, right? I'm imagining his coach running onto the course and screaming at him to stop. If he managed to get 25th in the 2nd race, he must have been somewhere close to the front in the first one....The other spectators must have been so confused.

The tweet wasn't accurate, as the runner himself says he just ran 5 minutes of the race; nonetheless it's still hilarious.
"Freeman High School’s Dalton Bodewitz finished 25th in the Class B boys’ race, an impressive feat in a field of 123 runners especially considering Bodewitz and teammate Skylar Godwin had a bit of an extended warm up by accidentally running part of the Class AA race scheduled for right before the Class B race.
“I wasn’t at full pace for the first half (of the Class B race), mainly because I was running in the AA for five minutes by mistake,†Bodewitz said. “Me and Skylar thought it was our race and we just hopped in with them and they said ‘ready, set, go,’ and we just went.â€
