A few weeks ago, I noticed my shin would tighten up mid run if I stopped at a stoplight, to drink water, etc. was running 50-60 miles per week.
About two weeks ago, I started noticing the tightness running. I'd feel it in my left shin and also in the calf. Sometimes I'd feel the pain in my calf running but my shin would hurt after and it would ache and throb after a long day.
I took a few days off and was able to keep running around 30-40 miles per week but would still feel pain in my calf and shin... Alternating
Ran yesterday and my shin (inner upper portion right below the knee/ front of the calf muscle) was fairly bothersome the whole run. Yesterday afternoon, it became painful to walk but seemed to get a little better if I kept walking on it. Hurt a lot this morning, but seemed to get somewhat better the more I was on it. Hurts to hop on it though or try to run.
Any ideas what I'm dealing with? Calf strain, stress fracture, shin splints?
