Including those dipstick Ethiopian selectors. Someone said many pages back Bekele was running on hate. He probably was.

Boom. How many GOAT threads just got created?
You can't be the GOAT marathoner without the WR
And the GOAT 800+ runner is Augustine Choge

I never doubted him (cough, cough,...)
Awesome race. Bekele kicked butt and Kipsang showed great sportsmanship after it was over.

I'm definitely thinking a guy like Bekele or Kipchoge can go low 2:02 under the right conditions.
Like a race that goes out in 61 flat for the half and where they have pacers and competition for the entire race? on a flat course and 50 degree weather?
this was pretty much perfect. bekele may be able to run 2:02 flats, but he refuses to push the pace so he's left to rely on the pace and race that's made for him. you can't give him a 2:02 flat when he had the perfect opportunity to do it today. sure, the km splits were far from perfectly even, but without kipsang he doesn't break 2:04 today.
bekele is amazing
also, HUGE props to Kipsang for keeping his career going at THIS LEVEL (i.e. WORLD RECORD LEVEL) well into his 30's, and now how many big marathons?
Kebede slowing, should win, but 2:20:mid

Looks like bekele would have medalled in rio had he been selected

Perhaps, NOP bribed the Ethiopian selectors.

Where is arciniaga?
2:10:34 ... at 40K. He was 1:05:30 at halfway I think, but his last 5K (35-40K) was 17:57.
Bekele's face looks about 55 years old
Arciniaga 2:18:18 - faded badly after 30k

Where does Mo go from here ?
who???
That sucks for him. What do you guys think: Kipchoge vs Bekele in marathon?

Kipchoge
Kipchoge all day. He ran a tick slower in London, definitely not the fast track of Berlin. Guy is on autopilot right now, surely has the WR in sight

RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
