Rowbury wins 2016 Zurich in 3:57.78 sb, Muir 3:57.85, Hassan 3:58.44

Another great effort for Rowbury. Avenging that loss from Zurich in 2014 when Simpson dove across the line.

Great race.

Kipyegon led onto the final straight, Muir went by her but stayed in lane 2. That opened up the door for Rowbury in lane 1. Rowbury had just enough room to come through and get the win.

Does Rowbury just suck at running rounds? Seems like she's a better runner than Simpson in one-off races as of late.

That's how we do it.

Rowbury rowed her arms before the finish and forced Muir off stride. Then Rowbury's boat sprung a leak and she took a post-finish swan dive.

This is just ANOTHER reason to LOVE the 1500: You seriously never know who will end up winning! I mean, first Genzebe's unbeatable. Then Kipyegon pulls out the upset. Then Laura Muir kicks a**, all the while Jenny Simpson is lurking, and then BAM - Rowbury ftw! Great stuff. Keep it up, ladies!

Yea Shannon won but that was crap and she knows it! The photos clearly show her swinging her arm down in front of Muir to block her progress - 'chicken $hit win' as far as I'm concerned! What I can't understand is why Muir didn't swing to the inside lane to pinch Rowberry off??? Oh, that's right she has some ethics! These kids of infractions are crap and doesn't show good sportsmanship.

Are you insane? Muir was on the inside of lane 2 the whole final stretch. Ronald McDonald was inside/mid lane 1 at the top, then drastically cuts out right before the line. For no reason. She wasn't going around anything or anyone. She just knew there was a chance she wouldn't win if she didn't get physically involved.

It's great watching her clown face take that dive and hit the track at the end.
