Me: 29 years old, 6'1'', 157 lbs; ran in high school, haven't run much since. Decided to get back into training about 6 months ago and have made pretty big strides.
I'm running my first marathon in Eugene OR on May 1. My training has been going well (some details below and feel free to ask further questions) but now that I'm getting into the last bit of training, I want to dial in my marathon pace for the latter half of my long run this weekend. I'm not too sure what I should go for -- here's the hard data:
Half marathon, four and a half weeks ago: 1:19:40. Extremely windy day and I didn't taper at all. Also didn't run with my watch because I forgot it at home and my pacing was shit.
Weekly training volume:
Last four weeks, average per week: 63
Four weeks before that, average per week: 57
Four weeks before that, average per week: 53
Peak volume (next week): 72
Sample training week (last week):
M - 6m @ 7:15, easy
T - 7m @ 7:00 (starting at 7:20 down to 6:40), medium-easy
W - 10m: 1m wu, 8m with 400meters @5:21 and 1200meters @ 6:22, 1m cd
Th - 6m @ 7:30, easy
F - 9m: 1m wu, 10K in 35:50 (tempo-hard), +cd
S - 7m @7 7:15, easy
S - 20m @ 6:50, easy until the end when my legs felt oh-so-tired.
So: given this data, the timing of my upcoming marathon, etc, what do you think I should target pace-wise?
Also, feel free to be standard LRC folks and tell me to run more miles and that I'm slow.
