having been fortunate to have seen numerous wr's over the years- kristiansen 10km, morceli rieti mile, geb vs. komen 5km, coghlan indoor 2km, coe at 3.47 in oslo, aouita first sub 7.30, johnson 19.32 in atlanta- i was thinking on my run this morning of which one might have been the most impressive. kristiansen with her will and solo rhythm? morceli without any lockup over the final 600m in an already fast mile? both geb and komen bashing it out over the last km? coghlan unmatched indoors? coe following byers over the first km and actually seeming to pick it up from there- again no lockup here. aouita- well, he's just aouita- that should say enough. and johnson- out of this world 200m- looked like he was gliding over the ground. but i've got to tell you, i think perhaps at the top of my list was seeing roddy haley run the first 500m under a minute on an undersized track in the middle of nowhere oklahoma city. just put the hammer down and went. really has stuck in my head. incredible performances all, but i think this has to be at the top of my list. anyone else with some personal experiences and opinions?
