There's another thread on this.
While the meet may be on, any article I see, seems the director(s) are reluctant to mention any marquee competitors.
It appears Millrose has devolved into an elite high school invitational.
Stop the inaccurate speculation - a company called Pro Sports & Entertainment Inc. who purchase the event from Octagon (the event company that almost killed the Millrose Games) turned the event around last year and is operating it this year. The line up of Elite athletes - University Teams and community events looks awesome. Get with the program and support the event and stop all the negativity - Its on.....
The meet will be good and the Wanamaker Mile will be a focus event once again with a good field.
"....the Wanamaker Mile will be a focus event once again with a good field."
With a winning time of 4:39.4
Who is running the men's Wannamaker mile?
Perhaps if there were some positive information coming out about the meet the negativeity here would be less. We are a couple of weeks away from the event and we don't know which, IF ANY, elite athletes are competing...but you're right, the fifth grade "special" sprint race will be spectacular I'm sure. And if you are holding up last year's edition of the meet as a positive, you must be a fool.
it also seems that the city has really taken an interest in the Millrose as it seems that this is the first year that there are Millrose banners along the streets of NY. I could be wrong, but it's the first time i have noticed.

I don't think "the city" has any more or less interest than ever. Those banners are likely the work of the NYC Olympics 2012 committee, who are desparate to create the illusion that there's some excitement here about Olympic sports.
Not the case.
The 2012 people and the Garden could not be more at odds over the West Side Stadium issue. They would sooner stick needles in their eyes than promote an MSG event.
