If an athlete set his school record in a high school race (example the dream mile) but was already graduated from his school. (one week or so). He was not wearing his school uniform. Should it count as his school record?

Yes
Not exactly the same but my HS's 5k XC record was set by a Footlocker champion in the Footlocker race, of course, they were wearing the uniform of the NE region.
I agree. I even think if it is a high school event that takes place after grauduation it should still count as a record. If they werent considered "high school" anymore then they wouldnt be invited to the race, right?
For graduated seniors, the high school "season" goes through August 31st after the year they graduate.
It is a line in the sand. Junior records (which are age dependent) are more "accurate."
There are also those that think high school records must be set in a high school only meet.
is that an actual rule somewhere? "august 31" or have you heard that somewhere? Where did you find that date?
I think he meant July 31st. At least that\'s what I\'m pretty sure Track and Field News and other entities use as their deadline for official national high school records, etc. Thus our school has always followed said policy.

We consider the season to go through August 31 of an athlete's senior year, but we have appended a section noting the best marks made in high school-only competition.
