I'm a High School senior doing XC in the Fall. During this Summer, I am trying to hit at least 60 mpw (preferably 70) within the next 5 weeks. However, I took a leave from running (personal reasons) for 10 days.
When I stopped, I was running approximately 6 miles during the weekdays, and 10 miles for a long run on the weekend along with a rest day, so was trying to run ~40 mpw.
How should I get back my schedule? How should the mileage progression look over the next 5 weeks? Should I resume at trying to hit 40 mpw this week, or should I resume somewhere lower? Keep in mind I'm trying to achieve this in the next 5 weeks.
