Kara Goucher blames Alberto for 18th place

I just watched the first minute of her interview, and she basically ADMITS that she's a liar, and feels guilty about it but is going to push on - because she is a very crazy stupid person. I knew this before she ever went to Salazar in the first place.

What's going to have to happen is that a former NOP runner will have to confess to doping and produce evidence. How's this for a scenario: Kara had bee unwilling to do that until now, but, since Salazar is coming after her so strongly, she's now confessed.

If not, I'm willing to bet that someone has. The rumors in the PP article have been around for years. Magness and the Gouchers had already gone to USADA. Something else has triggered this new investigation - again, ironically, it might be Salazar's own 'defense' Shipping pills overseas and testing Androgel on his children are potentially felonies. Even if no doping is proven, Salazar might be done.

We're living in interesting times...

From what they've said, it's clear Magness & Goucher talked to USADA several years ago. If they had given the USADA enough to charge Rupp or Salazar with doping, it would have already happened.

Kara says in the interview that she approached USADA in February 2013, so that's nearly 2 1/2 years ago. Since then she hasn't been part of the group, so it's pretty unlikely she has any direct evidence of her own to give.

I'm still interested to see if she gets specific about the who/what/when/why of the Cytomel bottle, but I have a feeling that whatever she's going to come out with in the next few days will just be more to do with her hurt feelings.

I agree. What she writes is going to be low on logic and high on the waaa waa I like to cry waaa waaa Adams is a good person waaaaaaa. I bet she spends a lot of words on the Adam\Alberto dynamic.

I'd like the explanation of the Cytomel bottle and Galen's AR. Although I feel Alberto already gave it to us and she either confabulated or just flat lied in the BBC interview.

No, I trust that after having packaged innuendo and vague accusations to make things seem much different than they were.... (e.g., Magness' knowledge that both the Mayo clinic tests and the hollowed out book/magazine allegations -'which were hung out there to make it appear Salazar was "hiding doping activities" - were clearly NOT evidence of doping; Goucher's statement about Galen being tired after a race and then setting record two weeks later being inexplicable - unless using drugs implication - even though as Salazar clearly explains weather adjusted times are consistent between the two races and Goucher as as a then world class athlete should have known, etc.)...that the "investigators" of the press (i.e., Epstein/BBC) will continue with defending their journalism with more flamethrower hearsay claims like the one Epstein gratuitously used in his response to Salazar's rebuttal (I.e., Areson's "Alberto was handing out prescription meds like candy").

When USADA's had the supposed "evidence" for two years and the best press story is weak, get ready for more drama because only drama can keep a story going when the facts can't.

Kara, you are attempting to destroy the legacy and possibly send to prison one of America's greatest athletes and coaches. Why are you surprised Alberto is firing back at you and attempting to defend himself. You talk about what Alberto has done to you, can you imagine what you are doing to him. Also, by holding back information and setting up interviews sounds like you have decided to play the media game. If you are truly interested in continuing in the sport as an athlete, why don’t you provide USADA/WADA with everything you know, stop talking, let the professionals handle it and focus on your training? This is the way to continue in the sport as a runner/t&f athlete and/or have your legacy be that of an accomplished runner opposed to the person who ‘attempted’ to take down NOP. I say attempted to take down NOP because as of right now, you have not provided proof that Alberto broke any rules.

Has anyone asked Kara point blank if she has doped during her time with NOP? I feel that should be asked. And what supplements she is on.

Does anyone here remember the Grunewald and Hill/Bumbalough DQs?

Alberto (with his NIKE money backing) has so much clout in the governing bodies of the sport that he can just yell at people to literally break the rules.

He DQ'd Grunewald on a THIRD PROTEST, against regulations because he entered the official tent with "other NIKE employees." He had a runner DQ'd because he looked like another runner who passed his athlete too closely.

The USATF was so embarrassed that they reinstated the athletes into the results without giving a reason why.

I think it fully possible that USADA could have been influenced similarly.

Salazar throws tantrums until he gets his way, and is fully backed by the largest sponsor of the sport.

Now I will say I don't know this is how USADA handled the situation, but it is certainly possible.

And before I forget, Grunewald's coach was told by Jerry Schumacher "Alberto is mad and making another protest, and he's going to get his way."

Your post is perfect example of referring to actual events that happened but completely making sh$t up to describe how and why they happened.

She needs to go to a news sources that makes her feel fulffy and get her lots of attention. I'm thinking like Good Morning America would be a good fit. Or Oprah.
