Braizer>Fisher
He would smoke Fisher if he did the Dream Mile. This kid is insanely talented. I'm going to go out on a limb and say he's going to make the Olympic 800 team in 2016. He's that special.

No, not the mile. No way he runs 3:59. He is sprinter , 400-800 and he is going to sprinter (bigtime) school , Texas AM. He will never run over 30 miles a week
What makes you think he'd have to run 3:59 to beat Fisher? I'd assume it'd be a sit and kick race.

1.47.5 is a long way from the 1.43 it should take to make the US team. He is a great talent - guys like you do him no favors by pumping him up so much. For all anyone knows TAM might ruin the kid. Instead of being in such a hurry (you not him) maybe looking at 2020 and giving him time to develop is the way to approach it. It is this "got to it this year or else" attitude that ruin so many talented kids coming out of HS.

Maybe because Fisher might recognize him on the starting line and adjust his tactics accordingly.

It will probably take something closer to a 1:43.high or 1:44.low to qualify. If we say he is capable of a 1:46.mid this year, he would "only" have to drop another 2 and a half seconds (or so) given a year of collegiate training and experience. Not probable, but still somewhat plausible.

What do you mean by ruin him? Honest question.

1:48.09 Doug Herron (Bartlett, Anchorage, Alaska) 1985
1:48.09 Austin Mudd (Center Grove, Greenwood, Indiana) 2011
right on with his goal from last month:
"While Donavan won’t head to Texas A&M until next fall, he might get a chance to compete against the best college runners in the nation next month at the USA track and field outdoor nationals.
“1:47.5 would be ideal, because that’s when you can qualify for the outdoor nationals out at Oregon, so that’s pretty much my goal here,” Brazier said."
4th all-time performer, fifth all-time performance, and several 1:48s to back this up as well. Maybe he could run sub 4 right now?? Blankenship just ran 1:48+ and he is about a 3:52 miler.
That was a great 800. Here's a video:

Yeah...because he totally can lead a 3:59 wire to wire when he barely ran that time being pulled along in a field.

None of these guys ever made an Olympic team. Brazier has no chance of making the 2016 Olympics unless he has dual citizenship with Tonga or some other small coral reef in the south Pacific.
Correction ----- none, except for Alan Webb
Still, you are saying this guy is going to survive two or three rounds of 800 heats at the Olympic Trials in 2016 and in the final run 4 seconds faster than he is running now. You can't be serious.
George Kersh was very good and came VERY close to making the Olympics.
Looking at the accepted entries for the 800 at US senior nationals Brazier is not listed as even declared. Will he be added or is it too late as the deadline was earlier this week?

Trolling or just stupid? Fisher did run 4:01 wire-to-wire to win his state meet. That would still be enough to get Brazier. With that said, Brazier is the man and could be the future of American middle distance running. He has run a 45.9 FAT split (so probably more like 46.hi if you add in reaction time and account for the flying start differential) and is most likely in sub-4:05 mile shape. Big time talent.
The people who say Brazier couldn't run under 4:00 are vastly underestimating him. He ran 4:07 earlier this year and won the race by 15-20 seconds. He has not been pushed. He had a very good cross country season last fall - he's not just a sprinter. He's got distance cred too. He should have been invited to the Dream Mile. He could very well have won it.
