Her best 1k is around 2:35 indoors, and she has been running lousy so far this year, my guess is probably from overtraining, she needs a confidence boost by running a good time before USATF/World trials so my guess is Salazar lets her taper off for this meet and she runs 2:32-2:33.
2:32-2:33? LOL.
DB has said some of the dumbest sh*t on Letsrun this week.
U still don't get why a chap in his mid 60's retweeting a photo of a group of his school girls taking a selfie might raise some eyebrows?

Nice double by Moser.
Cain looked better but she does not look confident. Her interview after the race was that she runs this pace for 1200m. If so, maybe she pulls one out of thin air at USATF.
I think Cain has some interesting decisions to make about how she wants to spend the next few years. If she decides to go all in on making the 2016 Olympic team, it could make sense to put school on hold for a year. If she decides to make school her priority, it could make sense to take a break from high-level competition and see if she misses it. Or maybe after a few weeks at home she'll be re-energized and ready to continue with both.
Anyway, If she makes the 1500m final at nationals, I think she'll have a pretty decent shot at making the team,* particularly since the US gets to send 4, but I'm not convinced she's better than 50/50 to make the final.
* Would she have to chase the A standard? Is USATF allowing people to chase this time around?
clearly her head is still not working right - she said after that she's run 1200s in practice at the pace she ran this 1000.
but this is a nice step - worth 2:01/4:10 or thereabouts according to the IAAF points.
Should help put some confidence back in her head.
She had a good attitude in the interview and her workouts are coming around, which is good news. It would still be surprising if she was close to qualifying for World's with the very high quality depth that we have this year at 8 and 15. But maybe she will be able to run some good times in Europe and be fully back next year. She's been at her best under this setup before in New York, and when she figure the wind and heat into it, 2:38's not bad.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
