Correction to my previous post: Belichick was caught videotaping a game (not a practice) early in the season of the third worst team in the league (the Dolphins and Rams had more losses than the Jets in '07). Apologies for the errors.

As I said earlier, this isn't about facts. It's about whether you love or hate the Pats/Brady/Belichick.
INCORRECT!
Every single person who has followed this story at all AND is INDIFFERENT toward the Pats/Brady/Belichick believes that Brady is guilty as charged. It is THAT obvious.
The fact that there are many folks who love/hate the Pats and let their biases lead them around like stupid animals does NOT make this about them.
It actually does make this about them. That's the problem. They make it about their love/hatred. That's the basic premise of confirmation bias. I wish it were about facts but it just isn't and hasn't been since day 1.
And I'm sorry, but "every single person"? Hardly. Guilty as charged is funny to read--as if there is one charge here. Black and white only eh?
To be honest this has grown so tiresome and sad. Not just in the public's response to inconsistent facts on both sides but in the PR that both sides are spewing.
Goodell is as self serving, careless, and misogynistic as any leader in sports today. It's so pathetic. I love how this is now about the "integrity of the game". I'm pretty sure the rampant use of PED's, the obscene amount of domestic violence that is tolerated, and the overwhelming greed, extortion, and racism that the commissioner allows affects the "integrity of the game" far more than this moronic topic. He'd be wise to exert his energies elsewhere. Too late I guess.

I'm no fan of the Patsies and would love to believe they are guilty as charged, but there's simply no concrete evidence supporting the charges. Despite what you wrote, a rational indifferent observer would never conclude guilt given the facts as we know them.
NFLPA files in federal court in Minneapolis. The NFL prefers NY fed court. There could be a jurisdictional battle looming.
The MN court has sent the case back to NY. The NFL wins round 1. Presumably the NFLPA will seek an injunction allowing Brady to play until a ruling on the case is made.

It is obvious you have only been following ESPN reports and have not actually read one piece of any of the official reports. The evidence suggests that footballs were not tampered with at all - any speculation about text messages or anything else after that is inconsequential. We are talking about evidence for a crime that simply did not happen.
So this whole thing started after ESPN's Chris Mortensen tweeted that 11 of 12 balls were under-inflated, information that later proved false. Today he deletes the original tweet admitting it was a mistake. But the damage has been done.
His original report was based on erroneous information leaked to him by an NFL executive who was a former longtime employee of the NY Jets. So the NFL investigates the Patriots based on Mortensen's report which was based on false information leaked by the NFL. WTF!?

The media hates the Patriots because they are generally the whitest team in the NFL. No joke.

The judge harshly both sides basically saying get this resolved OUTSIDE the court system. This is BULLSH/T to bring to a court system already overloaded. I am so sick of this issue.
Me too, Sally. Given that it's obvious that the NFL set up the Patriots, they should do the right thing and let Brady play. Otherwise it could end very badly for them.
Documents from the appeal hearing indicate the Baltimore Ravens suggested to the Indy Colts that the Patriots were letting air out of their game balls.
TB12 and Goodell have a private meeting with the judge in less than 30 minutes followed by (if necessary) a hearing in open court. We may finally get to put this witch hunt behind us and get on to playing football.
No settlement...yet. Back in court on Aug 19 with a decision expected by Sept 4. Stay tuned.

Polly P and other Pats fan it is in "fewer" than 30 minutes. Did you guys miss out on a few English classes? Less refers to amount and fewer to quantity. Last year there were 20 fewer days of rain and overall it rained less last year. Got it???
So if I run faster than someone else, I should say I ran in "fewer time" instead of "less time"? Got it.
Best post in the thread.
To be honest, the NFL is part of a wider agenda. They aren't too thrilled with the make-up of ol' Bill's teams most years in comparison to most of the rest of the league. And that's a fact.
Actually it is you acting like a juvenile with too much invested emotionally with this case. Honestly, I am pretty much indifferent with this fiasco - but I am so tired of it dragging on for this many months. They had a former MLB official on Morning Joe this morning and he said he would have resolved this in 2 days. 2 days! It is obvious Brady cheated and the Pats as an organization are chronic cheaters - to drag this out for so long is tiresome to us all. Brady needs to man up and take his punishment. Enough!
Actually it is far from obvious that Brady or the Pats cheated. You are obviously biased and far from indifferent.
