Meb j chillin' in the pack
The pace has picked up after the slowest/hilliest mile (5:25 ... mile 21). Ritz well off the leaders with a couple other casualties. Tsegay leading, Meb still in it looking ok.
Ritz has 1 more surge in him!!

Dibaba makes a big move, looked like Linden and three others were off the back. But then slows down and pack remains intact. Lead pack down to five.
Mile 23: 5:28 2:07:41 Chepkirui dropped, Kilel dropped. Cherop dropped.
Mile 24: 5:07 2:12:48 Dibaba pushing again, it’s her, deba, rotich. Linden fourth but well back
Mile 25: Deba takes the lead, Dibaba on her shoulder, Rotich next. Dibba and Deba are trading the lead.
Unsurprisingly, mile 24 was the fastest of the race: 5:07. One of Deba, Dibaba and Rotich will be your champion. Great race so far.
Ritz leaking major oil but fightin, Meb still tucked in lead pack

If he actually wins, it could start another US running boom like in the 70s. An American winning Boston two years after the bombing; Olympics next year...etc. The timing and setting is good. What a great race.
... and he gets dropped as I was typing. :(
I don't know why people bother complaining about Rawson. Watch the race. You can figure out what's going on.
How many PEDS are the top 3 women on. I said the same about last years winner and was right.

Idiot. LOL
SOrry for being premature.
Won't be surprised if he closes it down again. He's running smart today.
Meb barely hanging on... Desisa/Chebet/Korir look prime... hope Ritz can snag a couple more spots and that Desi stays in 4th
Desisa pushing now with Tsegay, Chebet, Korir in it. Meb a way back in 6th.
Great job Nike on the singlets (sarcasm).
One woman runner from Ethiopia, one from Kenya - both wearing the same uniform.
IMagine if in the NBA or the Olympics, everyone wore the same uniform.
Desisa on the men's side is tough. He was just laying low for a while. He's not nearly as smooth as some other guys but boy is he a beast.
Wesley Korir is impressing me.
Desisa killing it right now. Spreading them all out. Dropping Meb
Meb got destroyed!
Well this has been fun, guys.
KORIR FTW calling it now
Ritz nowhere to be seen. Meb has fallen way back. Desi wayyy back..
Now 3 men leading with Chebet falling off. Desisa, Tsegay, Korir your top 3 right now.
Ballgame, Ritz now flat out fading, Meb has lost contact. Big boys have dropped hammer.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
