Money talks and Gay is a "winner."
USATF, who is actually supposed to be protecting the integrity of the sport will not do a single thing about it. Should they? Yes. Will they? No way.
Just in time for the ramp-up to Rio. Money. Money. Dope. Money. Money. Win. Never test positive.
Tyson Gay is now being coached by John Smith

What the hell do you think USATF can do about that? -
Well, they didn't properly sanction Gay, did they?
-
Gay served his ban.
He trusted someone whom he should not have trusted. In the end, he was screwed by someone else.
At the end of the day, he acquired great muscle mass in the weight room and not through pills.
Of course SKINNY distance runners won't understand but I look forward to see the 2nd fastest man of all time compete again. -

Simple. Never test positive.
I'm not sure what fantasy world you live in, but, this is how the system works. -
So did nike outbid adidas for Gary or did adidas not re-up Gay? Wonder if Gay accepted a pay cut to go with nike. It'd be interesting if nike signed an aging, druggy sprinter for solid money, but let go an aging, well-liked, good-imaged distance runner over money.

not like they can go back and redo that, though, is it? -

Haha. We lifters have "stacks" (PEDs) for lifting. Real muscle gain, naturally, takes smart training, active recovery, good nutrition and sleep and decades of dedication. But that's not how America rolls. Fast results, big pump, sexy bimbos, steak eggs burgers fries, big money, big awards, fake piety, big houses, expensive cars, gold watch, drink and party, only go hard because "light" training is for wussies, etc. Essentially a lying shallow cheating culture that couldn't be truly further from the essence of health, balance and spiritualism. -

I absolutely agree, but the rest of the world is doing it too. The IAAF and IOC encourage drug use by not sanctioning every positive. Doping as a choice is made triply better because there are zero criminal penalties for fraud related to doping in most of the world. It's the actual reason the IOC works so hard to "be free of political influence."
As much as USATF allegedly hides positives, allegedly, they are following the IOC/IAAF's lead on basic corruption and sports fraud. -

He did test positive.
And served a shorter ban than what the rule provided because he cooperated. -

What does this say about the company and there care for PED's?

could someone fill me in - what athletes has john smith coached who have served drug suspensions? -
What a farce:
To this day we don't know:
- what substance he took
- who provided them to him
- whom else he implicated -
Smith has a much more negative view abroad than he does here. The Brits were up in arms when they learned Mo Farah was meeting with him.
Looks like Larry Wade and Torri Edwards tested positive and were coached by Smith.
However, I think more people are concerned about Mo Greene's admitting to paying Angel Heredia $10,000, a known steroid supplier, and the close association between Greene and Smith.

This claims Smith and Victor Conte had a business relationship as did Ato Boldon. http://www.cstv.com/sports/c-track/stories/052404aai.html
That NYDaily News article is a good read. -
We need to consider that basically everyone was doing it, so in the end, it was a level playing field and GAY is still 2nd fastest runner in the world.
I'm looking forward to see what he can run clean. I doubt it will be much slower. -

Good, make it like PGA Golf, no news means no bad news for the product. Testing should be secret, and results should not be made public , cycling should do the same thing. Why taint your market with ugly drug testing policies.

No he did not sign with Nike. Please pull the foot out of your mouth. -

Editor's note: We have changed the title of this thread. Initially it was titled, "Nike signs drug cheat Tyson Gay- sends him to drug coach." but that is incorrect. Tyson Gay is training with coach Smith but hasn't signed a deal with Nike.
Chris Chavez has an ESPN article confirming Gay is with Smith.

Additionally, Chavez texted me and said Gay doesn't have a deal with Nike- "Tyson is not with Nike at the moment" -
