Tbh, the meet organizers probably didn't trust in altitude flat conversions, but they are probably regretting it now

I wouldn't have put Soratos on the line-up, but if he's healthy I sure will be next year

TBH, im really not sure how Gregorek got on the list, he could have easily got that time at Husky, then Chez would've run 3:54.xx

He's having a once in a lifetime training phase right now, he needs to take advantage of it while he can

The way I see it, you don't leave things to chance. Soratos' coaches probably should have had him in a lower elevation mile earlier so that the MIllrose dandy's could have seen his legitimacy. They'd probably would have given him an invite then.

All of a sudden Ches v. Sorantos is looking amazing as a matchup. Ches will prob be tripling, so CS has an edge there.

Here we goo! NIKE at fault once again. Props to Soratos on a great indoor season, but let's be real here. Anybody know of him before this mile at UW? NO. Why would Millrose organizers even consider him over Ches? I'm guessing the event organizers knew who they wanted for each event before indoors even started. Yes, when you run for UO, have the swoosh on your chest and have Vin Lanana in your corner, you get some advantages in life.

Gregorek ran Millrose last year too. I don't even think he broke 4 but he was running for Columbia so the Armory was like his home track. Maybe being a Columbia alum helped him get a spot this year.

That's ridiculous, I don't see that as an exception for this Millrose Mile field

Last year when Alan Webb hoped in made at least a little more sense, he was the AR holder at the distance (HS as well), and he was going to end his professional running career with that race

There was 36 sub 4 milers on Saturday, he didn't deserve that spot anymore than all the other collegiate who got between 3:55-3:59 did, but was it because he was from Oregon?

I'm not really sure why the Millrose meet director was making these odd exceptions for Oregon (like the random 3k with 4 Oregon runners included with the only real pro Andy Bayer), but all I can think of is Oregon - Nike's favorite child- USATF (basically owned by Nike) - Millrose (USATF controls the meet), you get the connection

You go to Millrose to run FAST, not NCAA qualifier fast, but world class fast, I don't think the line-up was very optimal

I don't think the correlation was between Chez and Soratos, but more Gregorek and Soratos, I mean who knows Gregorek? And then the fact that Chez rocked back to pace his teammate instead of really going after it was really poor on his part, that does seem like a wasted spot to me

There's professional runners out there only making 30k-60k a year or so that would have much rather taken these spots and I can guarantee you they would have went all out cause they literally run for a living and don't make that much

No, I was just reiterating what I said previously because I don't think I was clear in my original post

I wanted to clarify that, unlike my title, I thought Gregorek in this field didn't make more since than Chez, I didn't want to people to think that Chez was a wasted spot when clearly Gregorek was, I mean, his teammate Daniel Winn ran a 3:57 mile at the Husky Classic... Why couldn't Gregorek go to Husky? And then put a more accomplished 3:53-3:56 miler in the field...

And also, I realized after my original post, that the meet directors probably weren't as trusting w/ the altitude/flat track conversions, so that might have made a difference as well
