I hear he has a strong chance of going under 4 minutes.
That said, my vote is on Lagat with the win, out kicking Centro
I think it's silly to take Bernie to win it. I say he doesn't break 3:53. Centro/Willis 1-2, depending on the pacing maybe 3:51 low. No faster than 3:50 mid. Leer's a major wild card - maybe 3:54 but I'm really iffy on that, O'Hare will run a decent time (3:54 also?) but probably won't be in the mix to win. Cheserek and Lawi might run 3:52, but very feasibly could go 3:53.
So, with those numbers, I'd say:
Centro
Willis (Willis may quite possibly take it over Centro)
Lawi
Cheserek
Bernie
Leer
O'Hare
If nobody goes with the rabbits, of course the times would be off. Then maybe we would see Willis - Centro - Ches - Leer go 1-4. Sure Bernie closed in roughly 26 this weekend, but that was off a very slow pace. He fell apart running that 26, too.
Preds based on the season so far:
1. Lalang - split 3:52 running solo in that DMR world record race last weekend
2. Centro - has been doing very well so far this indoor season, however missing Torrence's 1k record reduces my confidence in him a little bit (considering how much better he is than Torrence normally i.e. during outdoors).
3. Lagat - Looked too good in that 3k against Gebremeskel, closed in 27-low for 200m.
4. Willis
5. Cheserek
6. Leer
7. O'Hare
Preds If I had no idea about any of these guys' 2015 indoor season:
1. Centro
2. Willis
3. Lalang
4. Cheserek
6. Lagat
5. Leer
6. O'Hare
Centro

Lagat - 3:52.9
O'Hare - 3:53.7

Did people look at the fields? Everyone is mentioning the same 7 runners with no mention of Jager, Manzano, or Pat Casey.
1. Willis
2. Casey
3. Leer
4. Centro
5. Bernie
6. Manzano
7. Cheezy
8. O'Heezy
9. Jager
10. Lalang
11. Kyle "Crossfitter" Merber
12. Wieezy
13. Gregorek
The crowded field will keep it from getting bunched up/honest pace but also keep it from going ridiculously fast. Fast half, slow 3rd quarter, fast finish. 3:52 FTW.
No I only guessed from the list Bad Wigins posted. Still think Willis will win with a 3:50.
Lagat hasn't shown at the start line of a US champ 1500m (or mile) since Centro beat him at Outdoors in 2011. That should tell you something.
40 year old guy does not win this race, no way, no how.

It's a bold prediction. Fortune favors the bold.
The odds are definitely stacked against Lagat, but I'd much rather bet my money on him and win big or lose expectedly than play it safe and see him take the whole field and me be left thinking damn, I ruled him out.
He'll definitely get a master's record, that's no doubt.
Nice job Bad Wigins for stirring it up with Bernie up the top.. No way. But you already knew that, didn't you?
It's going to be close between Willis and Centro, both are on top of their game right now. Could go either way. I'll go with Centro just because it's more of a race than a time trial, and there's no racer like Centro.
With that, here's the top 10 for you:
1. Centro 3:52.20
2. Willis 3:52.30
3. Lalang
4. Casey
5. O'Hare
6. Leer
7. Lagat
8. Cheserek
9. Jager
10. Manzano

What's the record anyway? I know Eamonn Coghlan has run a 3:58 but was it indoors or out? I'm assuming indoors since that was his specialty.
Well Lagat is favored to take it down, for sure, but it's not going to quite the walk in the park everyone assumes. I'll stick my neck out and predict him at a measly 3:57.5.
1 Centro
2 Lagat
3 Manzano
4 Leer
5 Willis
6 Lalang
7 Jager
8 Ches
9 Casey
10 O'hare
guranteed
Will the race be on NBC Sports again like New Balance, or will I have to find a live stream? My computer sucks so Idk if I'll be able to see it if it's not on tv
The recent form Centro and Willis have shown indicates that the 40 year old Lagat has little to no chance.
Willis won't finish any lower than third.
O'hare top 5; has always run well at Millrose
Lagat lower half of the field
Ches will run stupid fast
Willis FTW, Ches sub-3:55
1. Willis
2. Centro
3. Lalang
4. O'Hare
5. Casey
6. Ches
7. Leer
