8:00 is 13:20 pace, the hopefully speed up to break indoor pr 13:19, outdoor pr 13:15, national record (outdoor) 13:13.
Is 8:00 too cautious? I have no doubt that Cam can tack on a fast last 2k and make us all shout out loud, but why not go for an even pace instead? Why not 63 per 400m, 7:52 at 3k, 13:07 pace.

He's prolly planning on droppin' a 55s last 400m to get the record... he needs to be able to run a 52s last 400 off this pace to get a medal so I'm sure Salazar is training him to do so.
Sometime its better just to keep your mouth shut and let your performance speak bad or good, In this case it was bad, what we call out the back door big time.
It's hard to be on every single week.
