Why'd he steal it? To pork one of his lady friends, or just go see a movie or something? You need to diagnose the actual problem so you can determine the solution for the cause. It might have nothing to do with disrespecting you.
Yeah, I think he went to bang his girlfriend. I didnt go to sleep until about 1am so he couldnt have gone to the movies.

Either this poster is not the same as the OP, or the OP is full of crap... who talks like this about their 15 year old son?!?
smell his fingers
put him in time out. That seems to be the preferred method of white folks when it comes to discipline for their kids. That should work.
If your keys were misplaced and the radio has been changed that doesn't prove that he drove anywhere!
Aha! Maybe he is telling the truth. Maybe he fingered his lady in the car and never stared the engine, never stole the car.
postpone getting his license for 6 months. if he does it again, make it a year.
Real OP here-
I utilized a technique where a fluffy, wet towel is placed in the subjects mouth and over their nose and held there until they begin to lose consciousness. At this point, the towel is removed and the idea is they will confess to whatever they did. It feels remarkably like drowning, and I was inspired to try it after hearing of water boarding at Guantanamo Bay, which led to my invention of a less intense, actually legal drowning experience. Anyways, my son admitted to taking the car in order to drive to a gas station where he had agreed to exchange 75$ of my hard earned money for a "E-Cigarette"
I figure the ordeal I put him through in order to learn this is pretty severe punishment in and of itself, so I decided to let him off with being grounded for a week and no phone for two, albeit with the understanding being that if he continues to behave like that, the punishments will be far more severe.
That idea of standing on a corner with a sign was pretty great though, might have to give it a whirl if he misbehaves again!
Being disappointed in him will effect him more. Show that you are disappointed. Show little emotion, and do not react the way he expects. He will be effected. Believe me
Rectal feeding tube with General Tzo's Chicken.
He's 15, does he already have his license? If not, make him wait another year to get one. If you think that's too harsh, like another poster mentioned, this is serious. Just because it's his father's car doesn't make it not a crime.
Did anyone read this!!! This was the freaking OP!!!

Damn good idea! This morning my car keys were not in the same place I put them last night. Also, I only listen to local sports talk and political talk radio in my car. When I got in my car this morning the radio was on Aux. My wife is out of town, it had to be him using my car. He is denying it but I KNOW he is lying.
What did you ask that you think he lied about? Perhaps he's not lying, and you're just asking the wrong questions. For example:
Op: Did you steal the car last night?
Son: No (I just borrowed it)
Op: Did you borrow the car last night?
Son: No (I just warmed it up for you)
Op: Did you drive the car last night?
Son: No (I drove it this morning)
Op: Have you driven the car recently?
Son: Why are you asking these questions? (Yes)
Op: Have you driven the car recently?
Son: No (I did turn it on and play the radio though)
Op: Did you turn on the radio?
Son: Yes
I think you should talk with him, but yell at him or accuse him. Check the mileage each night if you're concerned with him taking the car.

I actually thought about that. Postponing him getting his license will hurt him. Grounding him wont do any good because he rarely goes out. He is a 3 sport athlete so he has practice almost every day throughout the school year. He comes home does his homework and goes to bed. He occasionally goes to movies or a dance with his girlfriend. Except for sports, he stays at home so he wouldnt give a shitt if I grounded him. I could make him quit the basketball team but that might be counter productive. I dont want him to have a lot of free time.
Make him wear a "Michael Brown got what he deserved" shirt and walk through the black neighborhood.
No, that was not the OP. I am the OP. I have no idea what he was talking about referring to that torture crap.
Take away everything he owns and lock him outside.
Step 1: Buy him his own car.
Step 2: Find out when he will be taking someone on a date. Before he goes...
Step 3: Remove the cover of the AC unit in the car.
Step 4: Place a large Limburger cheese in the AC unit.
Step 5: Replace the cover of the AC unit.
Step 6: Plant a camera in the car.
Step 7: Observe results.
