9:05. Not bad if you're running faster than 3k pace. If that's current 3k pace I'd maybe be going 5-6 reps.

5-6 reps is too much. what you did was far wiser.
it's a workout not a time trial.
I would say < 9 3000m unless you have trouble breaking 60 in the 400.

Daniels has 2:55 I-pace for a 72 vdot. 72 vdot is 8:22 3,000 & 14:33 5,000.
All depends on how hard you were running them.
