Because of my degree plan I will be in college for five years. I would like to redshirt this year in order to run for my fifth year in college.
Can I compete unattached in college races this year?
What about road races?
Thanks!

If you are not on official roster you can run unattached in any meet and it won't count against your eligibility, don't wear school singlet or shirt. Ask athletic dept.
As long as you aren't in uniform you're good to go. Your compliance dept should have you sign a form for each race though.
Bump.
Hi have a related question:
Assuming you plan to complete your degree in four years, what do you tell a coach that may want you to redshirt? I don't know what my plans are but I may not want to stick around for a fifth year.
You tell coach you may not want to stick around for a 5th year.
