Several studies already have shown that coaches were unable to accurately predict running economy based on simply watching a runner. Does this study to assess the same concept and either support or refute the earlier studies or are you looking at something else?
Thank you for the comment. We are looking at either, but also examining whether the characteristics coaches define or observe as economical are in line with research. That is not to say that the research is right and the coaches are wrong if they do not align....not by any means. One goal is to see if there is a rift between what is practiced and what science has shown to be useful. If a rift is found, then measures should be taken to improve communication from the field to the lab and from the lab to the field.
Anyhow, hope this helps.
OK now you're talking sense. There is so much BS talked about running form, such as the commonly repeated stupidity about landing 'under your center of gravity' which is complete and utter nonsense and physically impossible to do.
Donzo, Doc.
Thank you for your comment.
That is certainly your opinion and it is welcome. However, many PT's, MD's, and Chiro's have promoted that concept along with a few biomechanist (who I believe are likely the most qualified to do so).
That does not mean there is an association between this questionnaire and the topic of your comment or that those associated with this questionnaire promote the idea any more than you do.
However, to state that anything is "impossible," let alone a concept that some fairly educated and experienced people believe is worthwhile, is generally not a good practice.
Just saying.
Thanks again.
Coach a high school team. Seen many strange and beautiful running forms. Interested to see how this turns out.
Done. I agree with Randolph. High school running characteristics vary wildly.

It's basic physics doc. Our body mass moves over our foot.
I wish people would use a bit of common sense. Try it some time.
done.
Looking forward to the results.
thank you.

People confuse using a verbal cue with what is actually happening. Or maybe all those doctors and coaches really don't understand physics at even a basic level.
I could not agree more, Sir Isaac Newton. Appreciate the comment.
Interesting idea. Completed.
RS
Done.
Finished this off. Hope my comments are useful.
Done, man. Hopefully you can add some good information to help us all.
Got it done.
Best.

What? The concept of landing 'under the center of gravity' is nonsense, a physical impossibilty.
Yes all those doctors and coaches don't understand physics even on a basic level. BS is BS, no matter how much you dress it up.
