So I've never ran a full marathon before. Considering running one in a couple months but... to be honest i'm a little afraid of the distance. I dont wanna just go out and run one to finish I wanna qualify for Boston, run Boston and be done w/ the 26.2 distance.
I've ran a half marathon.. Pulled off a high 1:26 on a pretty hilly course. So judging by that time I think I should be pretty close to running a sub 3:10 marathon.
So this is my question... do I have a legit shot at running a sub 3:10? Do you have a legit shot at getting accepted into Boston if you break your BQ by a min or two?
I usually put in 50+ mpw. Been getting my long runs up there recently did 17 at around 7:40-7:50 pace trying to keep my form, and stay relaxed. Should I jus go out and run a marathon time trial to see where i'm at? It's kinda hard to gauge where you may be at fitness wise w/ the heat and humidity.
I really don't like jumping into the land of unknown here. Any help appreciated. Thanks.
