felt hard but not completely all out. never raced an 800
2:08
Never raced an 8 before? 2:10
You can't predict an 800 off a workout like that. You might go 63-65, or you might go 63-74.
decrease the recovery and increase the reps, or increase the distance to 600m. 2x600m with full recovery is almost foolproof.
I've got a 2.03 athlete and I'm wondering what times he'd run for that session. His last 300 would be 26-27 though, esp after 2 mins rest. I'd say he'd be a bit faster, so you'd be a little bit behind, maybe 2.06-7. If you're a real distance type with very good endurance, then more like 2.07-10 based on that 1500. The real distance types can do a 1500 in double their 800 time. For the sprint 800 types with less endurance it's more like double their 800 + 10 seconds.
As to what Wigins said - I think the best test is 4 x 400 on 3 mins rest. That'll tell you your 800 level. If you think you could do 62-63 for all of them, then 2.05.
