Who out there has a nomination for the best group of men and women alumni that still run and compete? Think broadly from which college has the most athletes that still run.

Western State has quite a group.
....bucknell
Well, Stanford probably could put together quite the team. On a smaller school scale, Univerity of Puget SOund in tacoma isnt too bad with both Ahman Dirks and Dave Davis as alumns.
Villanova would have an impressive roster of men & women
in prehistoric times western kentucky university had several on the road race circuit that competed for VICTORY ATHLETIC club and SUB 4 Nick Rose Tony staynings Dave Long David Murphy Larry Cuzzort... later joined by Greg Orman and Ashley Johnson and finally by Sean Dollman....the new generation of wku athlete is not apt to run after college even though one or two acheived all american status...
In prehistoric times you had all the paid runners from UTEP.
not sure how we're ranking this, but outside of some of the obvious names (stanford, cu, etc.) north central college (IL) has some pretty solid guys still running. if we had a dual meet type thing, they'd place pretty high.
the appalachian state alumni team beat UNC chapel hill and UNC-G as well as VATech last year ( 8k blue ridge open boone NC oct 3 2003)
team members included ben bissette (25:44), derrick thompson williamson(25:23), lance parker (25:25), james slagle (25:58), alan marion (25:34), shawn evans (27:30), shane austin (26:08)
just something to think about
Not to shabby for a DIII school!
* Chad Johnson - still runs pretty fast
* Jason Ryf - Olympic Trials, marathon (20th ??)
* Mark Manz - Olympic Trials, marathon
* Wendi Ray(zak) - Womens Oly. Trials Marathon
* Eric Parker - Won Drake relays masters 800m 2004
* Arnie Schrader - near 40 now - still wins just about every race he enters locally
Tiny Stevens Point was home to other major runners also:
* Chris Solinsky - FootLocker champ - NCAA all american
* Curt Clausen - 3 olympics - race walking
* Suzy Favor - ???
Stevens Point, WI - The biggest little running town in the USA!
Arkansas had two guys make the finals in the Olympics, that's pretty hard to top.
Mount Saint Marys once had a formidable group of alumni. For a school of about 1,000 people.
Eastern Michigan with Verran, Cheboiywo, Steeple dude, British cat.
Michigan State with Baker, Jurcevich, Brinker?
Arkansas if you include triple jumpers, Teddy.
Stanford...the whole farm team.
Georgetown, Nova all have some guys still getting it.
I would second the North Central post...they have some guys out there.
Wisconsin puts together a pretty fair alumnus team. I think they are called WRT.
Brevard has had Campbell, Gibson, Dvorak are current. Plus Erickson was a Top 3 USATF, Ashley and Newton ran in marathon trials.
Portland had some guys with Driscoll, Julian, Steidl and The Grote.
NCState has a group as well. I think Seaton is current, Henes, Lopeman, Dvorak in this group as well, Middleman, both Mykytoks, and a host of others. Dugan ran the steeple trials with a wierd ass mustache this year.
ETSU has some alumnus that will make you cry. But it's been a few years.
Newton went to GA state
Look at DIII - UW-Stevens Poin wrote:

Steeple dude is Desilets. British Cat is Thompson.
Middleman went to Univ of Florida
Chad Johnson ran for DI Minnesota
Brinker went to Central.
Didnt McMullen go to Eastern Michigan as well?
