Gotta love all the late-20's non-medical guys jumping in (faster than they can read) to brag about their car.
OP - a car should not be the goal of your desired field. If you want to own a particular car, most legitimate careers could provide that, based on your spending (especially if you think a GT500 is an exotic, "someday" car).
Don't see how most fields couldn't be within the medical field. So engineers don't design and build the tools and machines doctors use? Yea, the doctor would do so well being able to correctly define ailments without the MRI machine designed by an engineer. Accountants don't deal with the solvency of hospitals? Actually the way health car is going less of the field is doctors and more is paper pushers/insurance agencies ect.
Really as you say in the second half of your post, any career can give him a car with well thought out spending, but the same goes for a degree and where you go with that. The OP seems to latch to the medical field because he correlates it to money, but it is good to note there are many degrees that are in the medical field and make good money doing so but aren't a doctor or nurse or even work at a health care provider.
Don't know if your post was an attack on mine for chipping in as an engineer, though I've consulted at hospitals so could be considered to have worked in the medical field. I believe we had the same sentiment, that a car doesn't matter and anyone can get an awesome one with budgeting. I remember when I worked in a warehouse to pay my way through college the other workers had nice mercs and such, because they were silly and highly valued the prestige of an expensive car. I may be over reacting by writing this as I don't see myself or the accountant? With the 2005 Acura bragging about their cars. I hardly think a low model Volvo or the soon to be grand caravan would be bragging.
I drive a Honda Pilot.
Well if you never had any money and live on section 8 all your gonna want is money. I have to take the bus everywhere I want to go because my mom doesn't own one, and I don't have anyone else to rely on. You wouldn't understand because you probably never waited for a 2 buses for an hour in sub 10 degree weather to get to school or work. I'm pretty sure I can get through college and med school if I've been going to school from 8-4 run extra fast with little recovery and leave track practice early then work from 6- 10 at mcdonalds and still make a 5.0 GPA on an honors grading scale I could do anything I want.
Live your dream, Y&R. But set your sights higher. Be happy and have happy friends and family. And the car you want.
Nope. Kid you understand HS in America is a joke right? Especially if you are "poor" you are probably in a crappy public school where you get A's just by showing and breathing. The average American HS does not prepare you for a good college. In Medicine, you don't get your first real job until you are Maybe 30. By then you hate the world and have 6 figure debt. And please don't talk to me about being poor. I grew up very, very poor too. I had no help paying for college and worked as a dishwasher to help pay tuition. It is possible that you could do it, but it's gonna be the hardest battle you've ever faced.
2014 Infiniti Q50.. I'm an HR exec.
CPA. Drive a 2011 Suburu Outback (lots of snow where I live).
I hope your goals change as you get older.

Im about to graduate high school in May and go off to college. I have alot of interest in a lot of careers in the medical field but I have no idea what I want to major in college. Hopefully one of you on here have one of the careers im interested. Im asking what kind of car you drive because one of my goals in the future is to drive a high performance sports car. Something like a Porshe, Corvette, or a GT500 mustang.
When I was your age I was obsessed with owning a Dodge Viper. Now, at 34yo, I could afford to go buy a Viper (they aren't marketed as Dodge any longer) with cash and not think twice about it. I do not have one and am no longer interested in owning one. I would suggest finding a career that you can be passionate about.

I'm confident your punctuation and sentence structure sucks.
I think you are part troll (mixing fact with fabrication) but its an interesting thread. Maybe a good financial goal might be to buy a decent car and buy one for your mom too. I also came from poorer roots but always remembered the need to help out my family. I drive a Rav4.

I am an orthopedist who works at a xfit gym exclusively because there are so many injuries. I don't own a car because personally I do xfit endurance, and can therefore run everywhere I need to go very fast.

Does anybody here have troubles getting insurance. I owned a custom S-10 (yes lowered, rims, stereo...it was my HS truck I never got rid of), a new S-10 for outdoor adventures and a Jaguar XJ6. The insurance company at the time dropped me cause they said a 28yr old male can't have that many cars. SERIOUSLY??
