So I'm doing a turkey trot this yr on Thanksgiving and my area is calling for 8-14inches of snow today, wed, and stopping thurs morning.
I'm a little worried cuz 1. I have never done a winter race. I'm wondering about footing, how to dress, cold temps, and this race has over 400 registrants.. 2. Was really hoping to PR on this race it's a nice flat course.. I usually can run a 18:20-19 was hopin for a low 18 or sub 18 finish. 3. race strategies.. Whats the best way to go out? Do I go out hard and hope to hold on to the lead? or keep in the lead pace. Not sure how competitive this race is gonna be, but we shall see.
Anyone have any notes of encouragement or input it would be greatly appreciated. I've only been running a yr and a half now..
Thanks.
