Ok so I've only been running for about a yr and a half. I did my first 5k in 20:38, and watched a guy break away from the pack and kinda ran in his own little world, and I said that's gonna be me someday..
So I'm tryin to get to sub 18. This morning I ran a 18:21 on a certfied course w/ some grades I wouldn't call them really hills but not flat either. Went out a little hard but the 1st mile is fast in 5:33, 2 mile marker in 11:29 or 11:30.
I'm doing a turkey trot in a wk and a half. The course is a lot flatter, however I enjoy the benefits of the downhill grades as well on a not so flat course.
Anyways, my question is, is it possible to go from 18:21 to 17:59 in a wk and a half? If not how much longer of a time frame am I looking at to get me to sub 18. It was my new yrs resolution, but only got a month left not sure if i'll make it..
