What train was it? I am on letsrun on my daily train rides and always think someone is going to recognize what I am doing.

at a running camp in about '04, there was a well known head college coach using the one computer we had access to, and he was bashing another school (he was D-1, and bashing NAIA). we saw him typing with his back turned to us. we quickly walked out, waited for him to be done, then walked right in and looked at internet history--all lame message board responses. we laughed and trolled him a bit.
similar stories at national championships from about '01-'04 using the hotel computers.
coach d?
At university, once.
I've had some clues that some posters are on my club team...fun trying to piece together the clues. Probably don't want to know who they are tho
One of my old training partners posts on here. He doesn't mind people knowing though - he's always nice and posts under his own name.
Why should anyone be ashamed of reading Canova's or JRinaldi's posts?

hey jamin
Karl Pilkington on Letsrun.com is basically the smallest, most interesting, demographic in the universe.

I do it everywhere I go.

As much as I am flattered that you think I am jamin, I assure you I am not.
I've had people I know IRL be like "I saw your thread." And a couple of people recognize me at races because of the awesome pain face I make and the fact that I've posted it here and on Reddit. But I've never actually been caught browsing LetsRun or caught anyone else doing it. Although I'm petty unashamed of the fact that I post here and I'll sometimes post funny threads on Facebook or, when I troll anonymously (not often, usually when I'm in a bad mood and need comic relief), I'll send it to a few people to take credit before it gets deleted.
No offence, but your sub in Reddit is terrible. As much as this place sucks, being full of jerks and trolls, at least it's better than the constant pity party that is r/Running. It's like Running with Oprah, or running Care Bear style. Everyone is a winner! Let's all celebrate being mediocre and running poorly! Constructive criticism? Heck no, that would hurt people's feelings. The special snowflake generation at it's finest.

It's supposed to be beginner-friendly. LetsRun isn't. That's fine. They both exist for separate reasons. On the other hand, offering a new runner advice without being a total jerk about it is a great, sneaky way to possibly get him into competitive running. Being condescending toward beginners just makes them want to separate themselves from us even more.
I used to work in a school and the kids would constantly make fun of me for being on letsrun. I tried to explain to them that in the running world it's a totally legit site, and they'd tell me it looks like a fifth grader made it and only pansy runners must use it.
The real question is has anyone ever seen someone browsing runnerspace?
My Mom walked in on me looking at LetsRun once; I've never been so embarrassed.
letsrun.com is the default web page on web browsers in the library, bars and coffee shops in the predominantly gay Warehouse District of Austin, Texas.
To save embarrassing situations - If I am ever on letsrun in public I always ensure I have a second window open showing gay porn to quickly switch to in case anyone approaches me.
No, but some guy just posted he saw 3 college-age kids at a bar engrossed in phones the other night. He was out to dinner with his wife.
Could have they been trolling the board???

Oh, don't worry, they do this on their own simply because others are faster than them. The condescension exists, sure, but more frequently it's alienation on purpose. 'Fast hating' if you will.
