Step Brothers. Definitely Step Brothers. Brutal film.
Step Brothers. Definitely Step Brothers. Brutal film.
Most people realize "Step Brothers" is one of the most awful movies mainstream Hollywood ever put out but its very funny an silly and enjoyable to watch.
On the other hand "Freddy got Fingered" is no worse a movie but it wasn't funny. "Step Brothers" at times was funny. "Dumb and Dumber" had even more funny moments. I mean scenes where you actually laugh. If you can do that once in a movie than that movie is memorable.
I would vote for "Old School" or "Anchorman". I think Will Ferrell must have worn me out at some point. Maybe "Blades of Glory" was the final straw. "Land of the lost" was another huge turkey.
I also vote for Anchorman. I've only seen parts, but it's brutal.

I think "Stripes" is a vastly overrated comedy. It's not really funny or even smart funny but when it was out Bill Murray was so popular.
The only thing that movie had going was Bill Murray's easy comedic style and charisma and Warren Oates as Sgt. Hulka.
All those comedy movies made in the early 1980's that were so popular in retrospect now are really lame.
"Dumb and Dumber" is terrible but at least its the only comedy that the first time I watched made me laugh more than any movie I had ever seen.
Oh my god. How would anyone know that? My brain is so f'kd up. It's associating alcohol with looking up the word 'cerebral' because I was drinking when having the conversation about being cerebral.
I don't think I should wait until the company health insurance benefit kicks in. I need treatment now.
"The hangover"- don't get the hype
"Ace Ventura Pet Detective"...actually anything by Jim Carey. I find that idiot annoying.

It is a terrible movie, but it's way better if you watch it edited.
If you list your most overrated comedy, I think you should also have to include your favorite comedy on the list. That way if you put a movie like Shallow Hal as your favorite, then we know you shouldn't be allowed to post on the topic.
Monty python, for example Life of Brian or Meaning of life.
The silly walk sketch is also.. yeah...pretty silly.
The correct answer is "Anchorman". Totally unfunny. I tried watching it a few weeks back just to see if I was missing something and I turned it off 35 min in. Utterly unwatchable.
I don't think any of Will Farrel or Adam Sandler's movies are highly rated. They are just popular with the masses and make money.
"Animal House" could be an example of an overrated comedy. When it came out it was called comic genious. It really isn't that good. "Caddyshack" is way worse but people still love that movie.
What is the most underrated comedy of all time? Are there any great comedy movies that are actually good films from beginnning to end?
"Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" was a good film that was very funny.
I liked the top 100 list until I got to the top 12. Borat, Team America and Anchorman in the top 12 of all time?????? By the way, some great comedy from the 30's, 40's and 50's goes totally unrecognized. Not sure you'd put the Thin Man series in the genre but definitely worth a nod.
Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie.

I agree with this statement. My favorite comedy movies are Airplane! and Vacation.
Don't worry about Blue, He's legit...
THIS ONE.
The hangover was complete garbage
