Does anyone have a video of the run that they could possibly get access to/upload on Youtube or something? I've been wanting to see this run for years, and yet it seems no one has the vid. Would be much appreciated if anyone here could contribute.

+1 - would love to see this run.

Right after his Olympic gold. He made his lifetime best within three weeks of the Olympics. Perfect.

You have to say Cruz was the biggest talent we've ever seen at 800 meters, 1:51 as a 15 year old off of minimal training is exceptional and a 1:41.77 when so young is spectacular. Too bad he never achieved what he should of.
Cruz has that characteristic long stride of the great 800m runners - Kipketer and Rudisha. The fact that Coe is also in that conversation is a tribute to him.

I do have a rather poor quality copy of the race on dvd. Unfortunately I've recently had to have a new hard drive and have lost all the software I had to copy & edit dvds to download them onto Youtube. Once I get that sorted I'll try and post it.

A huge stride, yes, but stylistically not as good as the other 3. He was rather ungainly IMO.

A major leg-length imbalance will do that...
he made it to atlanta 96 as well
raced against the famous dopper morcelli
think he made it to the semi and led some of the way
i'd place him at the very top

Deanouk, hope you can sort out your software issue. Either way, thanks for the effort you put in to post videos from the Coe/Ovett/Cram/Cruz era. I've enjoyed watching them all.
Atlanta?
Don’t know about that, but he did run at Seoul in the 88 Olympics and should have won that - have you ever seen such a disastrous tactical race by a runner who had Cruz’s experience?
ya he raced 1500 at atlanta
1:49.84 - 800m Freshmen National Record - Cooper Lutkenhaus (check this kick out!!)
Emma Coburn to miss Olympic Trials after breaking ankle in Suzhou
Jakob on Oly 1500- “Walk in the park if I don’t get injured or sick”
VALBY has graduated (w/ honors) from Florida, will she go to grad school??
