So just wondering, how does a college athlete qualify for ncaa indoor nationals? Is it by qualifying time (if so what are the qualifying times) or is it by the top so many fastest people? Is it different depending on division?

Depends on the Division. Divsion 1 switched to a straight top 16 per event format this year. D1 only uses the regional system for outdoor. D2 uses auto and provisional qualifying time with a limit on the total number of athletes for the meet so stronger events qualify more kids than weaker events. D3 if i am not mistaken is top 15 for outdoor but it looks like top 13 for indoor. if you want to know the times needed go to tfrrs.com and look up the division and event you want to know about and t should list the standard above the event list.
