So here's my story:
I am a baseball player who was recruited by schools for baseball only. However, my strength is speed, and I was encouraged to go out for indoor track this winter to give it a shot.
So I have been training for the indoor track season as it is approaching. My main focus has been on the 55 meter dash, as it is my strongest. On 3 different occasions, I have been timed (by hand). I understand these can be horribly inaccurate but they were done by two different coaches who coach track for a living, so hopefully they were not too far off.
Day #1 - 6.35, 6.42
Day #2 - 6.32, 6.2 flat
Day #3 - 6.5, 6.36
Day #1 was a 60 yard dash, run on a turf field with running shoes and a standing start. The other two days were run on a track with running shoes and a standing start as well.
So with this limited information about me, what would you recommend I do? Is it worth it to try and get recruited? Will my times slow down significantly on the starting blocks/with FAT?
Thanks for your help,
Justin
