I'm verbally committed to a school going to D1 XC nationals. My school has a spring signing ceremony where they invite anyone participating in college sports to sign in front of a school assembly. Should I participate or just sign at home? What are your experiences?
If you are a nationally or even regionally recognized runner, it can be nice, free PR for the college program if you sign at school or at some sort of ceremony and photos are taken and then published on a running site like Dyestat or Milesplit.
Also, most runners don't make it on their own - it is nice to recognize the help you received from your coach and your school, as well as your parents.
